Iceage loved being in the show ring from day one. While formally campaigning, Iceage accumulated multiple all breed Best in Shows, won Best of Breed at Westminster KC, won the PBGVCA Top 20, and was #1 PBGV in AKC for multiple years. After official retirement, Iceage joined me in Australia for a year where we were honored to win the very prestigious Hound Group at the Melbourne Royal, earning his Australian Championship as well as a Best in Specialty Show. Upon returning to Texas where we call home, Iceage and I played around, showing a few more times, earning Best of Breed at our Pre-National Regional Specialty from the Veterans Class as well as another all breed Best in Show. A once in a lifetime ride, Iceage now enjoys his golden days sharing the couch, bed, and trips for coffee.

Due to his formal campaign schedule, Iceage didn’t get to start hunt tests until the age of 6 but he lost no time showing the world that those fancy show dogs could get down and dirty in the field. At 13 years old, Iceage earned his Master Hunter title! He is testament to the importance of correct structure, great health, allowing him to successfully do what he’s bred to do at such a mature age. Still chokes me up with pride hearing the pure joy coming from his voice when he is on a rabbit.

Iceage has always been my co-pilot and best buddy in all things. We’ve travelled the country and world together with nothing short of his usual plucky, cheerful and extremely loving nature. He continues to be a wonderful embassador for the breed and is the reason I’ve dedicated my life to helping preserve the breed.
